Anita F. (Penning) McKinnon

Anita F. (Penning) McKinnon, 89, died Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Daniel F. McKinnon. Born in Roxbury, she was raised and educated in Mattapan and a graduate of Boston Schools. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 55 years and was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Anita was a longtime active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton, serving on several committees, as a member of the choir and as a longtime Sunday School Teacher. She was a bright presence at all church events with her friendly personality and her gentle smile. After the death of her husband, she joined 24/7 Family Fitness and enjoyed working out there. In her free time, she enjoyed walking and shopping with her daughter.

Mrs. McKinnon was the mother of Janet M. McKinnon and her longtime companion Glen Casey of Stoughton and Daniel F. McKinnon of CA. She was the sister of the late John and William Penning.

Funeral Services will be held in the Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton St., Stoughton, on Friday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
