Ann Fallon Swanson, 71, "Annie", died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Louis R. Swanson. Born in Dorchester, daughter of the late John "Howie" Fallon and Mary (MacDonald) Fallon, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1968. She also was a graduate of the Chandler School for Women. In 2001, she earned her degree from the Virginia School of Technology. Annie worked for Stoughton Schools and the Stoughton Housing Authority, before getting married and moving to Norfolk, VA. While in Virginia, she worked as a Medical Secretary at the DePaul Medical Center and later for Rosenbluth International and Travelocity Cruise Line. After the loss of her husband in 2002, Annie returned to Massachusetts and settled in Taunton. Annie was a fighter and survivor and battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years. She was the 1956 Poster Child for RA. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Prince Edward Island, Canada and loved her Cairn Terriers.
Annie was the sister of John W. "Stretch" Fallon Jr. of Stoughton and the late Charles H. Fallon Sr. She also had very close relationships with her nephews, Charlies H. Fallon Jr., Sean D. Fallon, Jerome M. Fallon, Chad R. Kelley, and Mark R Kelley. Annie also had "sisters" her sister in law, Judith A. Fallon, Susan Kwedor and Irene Buckley and lifelong friend Stephen Kelley. Annie also had a special relationship with the late "sister" cousin Margie Mullen of Prince Edward Island.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 4-7 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 7 PM. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday evening, September 18, 2021 at 5 PM at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, Annie would like donations made to the Animal Rescue League of Massachusetts, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116.
