Ann M. (Hayes) Rush

Ann. M. (Hayes) Rush, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Walter L. Rush. Daughter of the late Henry M. and Anna F. (Galvin) Hayes, she was born in Boston and raised in Hyde Park. She was a graduate of Most Precious Blood School in Hyde Park and St. Thomas High School in Jamaica Plain. She resided in Stoughton since 1964. Ann worked in the Accounting Department at Boston Mutual Insurance Company for several years before being the Assistant to the Town Accountant for the Town of Milton for 12 years until her retirement in 1999. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing golf at Lost Brook Golf Club in Norwood but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Ann is survived by her children, Susan M. Amaru and Barbara A. Ilacqua both of Stoughton, Richard W. Rush and his wife Maureen of Raynham and Christine M. Krim and her husband Edward of Lakeville. She was the sister of Richard Hayes of Stoughton, Robert Hayes of Georgia and the late George “Buddy” Hayes. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, October 15 from 10-11 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
