Ann L. (Toomey) Scipione

Ann L. (Toomey) Scipione, 83, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the loving wife of over 62 years of the late Anthony M. Scipione, and together they raised four beloved children. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Charlestown and was a graduate of Julie Billiart Central High School in the North End. After raising their family in Jamaica Plain, she and Tony moved to Rollinsford, NH for many years after her retirement from a career as Administrative Assistant for the Boston School Special Education Department. She was a resident of Middleboro, MA for over 17 years, prior to moving to Heights Crossing, Brockton, late in 2019. Ann and Tony spent many happy winters in Port St. Lucie, FL. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family and friends remember her smile, her quick wit, her laughter, and her kindness and thoughtfulness to all who met her.

Mrs. Scipione is survived by her children: Stephen Scipione and his wife Kalina Ingham of Arlington; Michael Scipione and his wife Susanne of Onset; Laura Harney and her husband Michael of Easton; and Jeffrey Scipione and his wife Maria of West Roxbury. She was the grandmother of Jessica and Adam Scipione (husband of Sasha Albert); Tori and Jared Harney; and Marissa (wife to Holson Yap), Nicole and Matthew Scipione. Ann was caring sister to Jean Ferola of OH, and mourned her late brother, John Toomey. She was a loving sister-in-law to Michael Scipione and his wife Louise, and a fond aunt to their children Michelle and David, and to Jean Ferola's son Gregory.

Due to Covid restrictions, family services will be private. Donations in Ann's memory may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
