Ann L. (DiNunno) Smith, 90, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a long period of declining health. Born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Donato and Frances (Minerva) DiNunno, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1954. She was a longtime resident of Brockton before moving to West Bridgewater in 2014. In 1956 she married Robert D. Smith and together they enjoyed over 57 years of marriage and raised their 7 children, before his passing in 2013.

In the 1970s, Ann owned and operated Pete’s Place, a breakfast and lunch spot in the Campello Section of Brockton for several years. She then worked for New England Telephone and later worked in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office for many years, retiring several years ago. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A longtime parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church in Brockton and most recently at St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater, Ann was a dedicated volunteer and member of the Mother’s Club in both churches. She was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Brockton Rox. Following her retirement, she enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with her husband Bob, and playing Bingo, but her most cherished times were spent with her beloved family.

Ann is survived by her children, Dean F. Smith and his wife Anne, Robert J. Smith (Brockton PD Ret.) and his wife Cheryl, Kevin A. Smith (Brockton School Police, Ret.) and his wife Paula and Deanna M. Smith all of West Bridgewater, James Smith (Hanover PD Ret.) and his wife Lisa of Hanover and Patty Smith of West Bridgewater.  In addition to her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her son Peter M. Smith, her grandson Jonathon Smith, and 6 brothers and sisters. She was the loving Gramma of Chris, Danny, Nick, Matt, Andy, Robert and Kristen Smith, Courtney Deveau, Nicole and Megan Smith and Jamie Dowd. Ann was the great grandmother of Rylee, Jacob, Zachary, Lilly, Bobby, Sandra, Emma, Evan, Ella, Kennedy, Grady, Jake, Connor and Rosalie.

Ann was greatly loved by all and will be missed.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 29 at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, 103 N. Main St., West Bridgewater at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
