Anthony Thomas Hughes

Anthony Thomas Hughes, 66, a longtime resident of Brockton, died at home on Sunday, October 9, 2022 after a period of failing health.  Son of the late Daniel E. and Mary Lois (Cheverie) Hughes, he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. He graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1974. Anthony worked at Alpine Press in Stoughton for a number of years before retiring several years ago. He enjoyed playing sports in his younger years and was an avid Boston sports fan. He also enjoyed walks in nature but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Anthony was the brother of Daniel J. Hughes, his wife Maureen and their family of Stoughton, Paul M. Hughes, his wife Sharon and their family of Ann Arbor, MI, Anne E. Hughes Smith and her late husband Ernest G. Smith II of Norfolk, Jane M. Hughes of Brockton, John W. Hughes of Florida and Richard G. Hughes and his wife Louise of Florida. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, October 19 from 2-4 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 4 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
