Anthony R. “Tony” Pietroszkiewicz, 80, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after falling ill at his home in Stoughton. Born in Stoughton, he was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1960. Following graduation, he joined the US Army and faithfully served for over 3 years during the Vietnam Era. After his Honorable Discharge, he began working for the Ironworkers Union, Local 501 in Boston, a career he enjoyed for over 43 years until his retirement in 2009. Tony, also known as Tony Petrose, was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 1977 in Stoughton. He was an avid sports fan and a fan of the Boston Sports Teams. In his free time, Tony enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod in the Summer with friends and family and playing cards.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albina (Stripinis) Timperi and Anthony Pietroszkiewicz and his sister Joanne M. Petrucci. He was the beloved uncle of Cheryl A. Petrucci of Stoughton, AnneMarie Rivers and her husband Wes of Bellingham and Jill Thrasher and her husband Chuck of GA. He is also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Foundation.
