Antonio Candido Matos

Antonio Candido Matos, age 84, passed away at AccentCare Hospice Center in Milton, on September 30, 2022. He was the devoted husband to Maria Fatima (Soares) Matos for over 50 loving years. He was born in São Jorge, Portugal in the Azores. He was a Machine Operator at Cumberland Farms in Canton for over 30 years. He enjoyed tending to his garden, making wine and especially loved his favorite food, Portuguese kale soup.

In addition to his wife, Antonio is survived by his children, Aida Lourenco and her husband Richard of Stoughton, Steven Matos of Stoughton and Kristen Hill and her husband Devin of Sharon. He is also survived by his 4 sisters, and is predeceased by his brother. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sophia and Sienna Lourenco, and Jacoby and Nathan Matos.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Wednesday October 5th from 4-7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Thursday October 6th at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30AM. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers donations in Antonio’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
