Augustine J. Flanagan

Augustine J. "Bud" Flanagan, Jr., age 77, passed away at Tufts Medical Center on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Born in Canton, he was the son of the late Margaret (Finn) and Augustine Flanagan and was a resident of Stoughton for 46 years. Bud was the devoted husband to Patricia M. (Bernard) Flanagan for 52 loving years. He was a graduate of Canton High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Bentley University in Waltham. Bud worked as an Accountant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 25 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener and Boston Celtics fan. He loved going to Saratoga Race Course twice a year with his family. Most of all, his favorite time was spent with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Bud was the cherished father of Kevin J. Flanagan and his girlfriend Renee Toomey of Brockton, Daniel M. Flanagan and his wife Kathleen of Upton and Mark J. Flanagan of Attleboro. He was the brother of Virginia Curley of Easton and Thomas Flanagan of Easton, and was predeceased by his siblings, Laurence Flanagan formerly of Stoughton and Elaine Bogdanchik formerly of Mansfield. He was the doting 'Pa' of Joseph, Mia and Lucey Flanagan.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 14 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, September 13 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud's memory may be made to the Stoughton Food Pantry, dba Ilse Marks Food Pantry, PO Box 812, Stoughton, MA 02072.
