Avelino L. "Al" Serpa

Avelino L. “Al” Serpa, 59, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Son of Maria H. (Lopes) Serpa of Stoughton and the late John G. Serpa, he was born in Lajedo, Flores, Azores, Portugal and came to Stoughton in 1966. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School and attended Massasoit Community College. Al was a technician in the biochemistry industry, working for Digital, Compaq, Haemonetics and Infusystem over the years. He was an antique car and muscle car enthusiast. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed walking the beach in Hull, working out, traveling and fishing.

In addition to his mother, Al is survived by his siblings, M. Celina “Sally” Fraga and her husband Gabriel of Stoughton, Judy M. Townsend and her husband Paul of Sharon and Eddie L. Serpa of Stoughton. He is also survived by his nephews, Gabe, David, John and Jimmy as well as his daughter, Alycia Murphy and his former wife, Kristin Mellor Serpa.

Funeral Services private. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
