Barbara J. (Kiernan) Fallon

Barbara J. (Kiernan) Fallon, 89 passed away unexpectedly June 23,2025 after being stricken ill at her home in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Henry R. “Dick” Fallon. She and her husband moved to Stoughton in 1959 and lived 65 years in the same house. Born in Boston in 1936 Barbara was the eldest daughter of the late James S. and Mary (White) Kiernan. She was raised and educated in Boston and later earned her Bachelors degree from Perry Normal School which is now Curry College. She worked as a 3rd grade teacher in Hanson, MA and later as a nursery school teacher in Holbrook and Stoughton. She was also a daycare provider for several area families. In short, Barbara loved children. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker who cherished the time spent with family especially spending summers at Bluefish Cove in Brant Rock. She was a fan of all Boston sports teams but her favorite was the Red Sox. In addition to time spent with her children she enjoyed spending time with her sisters, friends, bingo, bowling, The Price Is Right & lobster.

Barbara is survived by her children Donna Cavanaugh and her partner Brian MacNeil of NH, Barbara Harris and her husband Bill of Stoughton, Patricia Hurley and her husband Jack of Bridgewater, Richard Fallon of Taunton, Joseph and James Fallon both from Stoughton. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Barbara was the sister of Joyce Boyle of Hyannis and Marilyn Sten of Averill Park, NY. She was the sister-in-law of Colonel Paul Fallon (USAF retired) and his wife Ann of Boerne Texas and Jeanne Messmer of Duxbury.

Visiting hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday July 10th from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 at St. James Church 560 Page St. Stoughton.
