Barbara V. Quinn passed away at Baypointe Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on April 24, 2021 at 90 years of age. Born in Boston to Ralph F.W. and Gertrude P. (Twombley) Quinn, she previously resided in Dorchester, Hyde Park and Stoughton. She graduated from Girl's Latin School in Boston and Emmanuel College. Barbara also went to Boston State Teacher's College where she earned a Master's Degree in Education, as well as UMass where she earned a Master's Degree in Counseling. She was a Kindergarten Teacher for many years, and owned her own private kindergarten called, "Little School Kindergarten." She also worked in the Stoughton school system as a substitute teacher. Barbara was a mentor to many people, and showcased her kindness and her skills in the work of helping others. She was a social worker for "CORE", counseling drug and alcohol addicts. She was also a member of A.A. for many years. She had a natural love towards being able to guide people in the right direction of their lives, and it truly showed in all of the selfless time she took in taking care of those who needed it.
Barbara was the loving mother of Richard R. Hopkins and his wife Cindy of Manchester, NH, Barbara R. Hopkins of Portland Maine and Ann T. Hopkins-McDonald and her husband Gerry of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Allison, Laura, Jade, Julia, Patrick and Kevin and is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren. She was also the dear sister to the late Patricia McCartney.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, private family services will be held, with a celebration of her life at a later date.
