Betty A. (Cowgill) Jardin, 90, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton after a period of declining health. Born in Brockton and raised in Stoughton, daughter of the late John E. and Mabel Alta (Coe) Cowgill, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1953 and Bridgewater State College, Class of 1958. In 1960 she married Frank E. Jardin, and together they spent over 63 years married and raised their two beloved children. Betty and Frank moved to Easton in 1968 and raised their family there. Betty worked as a teacher and librarian in the Stoughton and Easton School Systems for many years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed lunches with her “Club 53” friends from high school and Thursday nights at the Town Spa with Frank. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting Foxwoods and loved playing cards, cribbage and poker.
Betty is survived by her children, Matthew E. Jardin and his partner Leanne Condon of Holbrook and Maureen A. Jardin of Easton. She was the sister of Francis Cowgill of Bridgewater, James Cowgill of Avon and the late John Cowgill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Betty’s name may be made to the Copley at Stoughton Patient Activity Fund, 380 Sumner St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
