Billie Mae (Dowd) Davis, 41, died Friday, November 20, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton unexpectedly after suffering injuries from a fall. She was the wife of John A. “Jack” Davis of Stoughton. Born in Boston, third daughter of Arthur D. Dowd, Jr. and Mary “Mae” (Cullen) Dowd of Stoughton, she was raised and educated in Brookline and Westwood and was a graduate of Westwood High School. She was a resident of Stoughton since 2005. Billie was a longtime plumber and office manager at Dowd Plumbing in Stoughton and a member of Plumbers Local 12 in Boston. She was a calm presence wherever she went and was known for her easy demeanor, her kindness and her willingness to help a friend or family member in need. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, a good cup of coffee, tending to her flowers and was never far from her beloved dog Ryder.
In addition to her husband Jack, and her parents, Art and Mae, she is survived by her daughter Deja M. Dowd and her stepdaughter Kirsmary Polanco, all of Stoughton. Billie was the devoted sister of Maria Satanowski of Taunton, Victoria Farnam of North Attleboro and Jillian Munnick of Stoughton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her niece Gena Dowd.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be held from in the Funeral Home Wednesday at 9 AM with burial to follow at New Westwood Cemetery in Westwood.
