Bruce M. Fencer, 80, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Farrell) Fencer for 55 years.  Son of the late Horace W. and Gertrude L. (Newton) Fencer, he was born and raised in Brockton.  He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1961 and Coyne Electrical School in Boston.  He was a resident of Stoughton for 53 years.  Bruce served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era.  He was an Electrical Engineer and Vice President at E.P. Mahard, Inc. in Boston for 34 years before being the Chief Electrical Engineer and Vice President at Crowley Engineering in Middleboro for 4 years.  He then was an Electrical Quality Control Engineer for R.W. Sullivan in Boston for 10 years until his retirement in 2015.  He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop 516 in Stoughton for 35 years and was also active with the Berwick Boys Foundation in West Bridgewater.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and vacationing in Millbridge, ME.

 

In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by his children, Rebecca F. Lyons and her husband Dennis of Whitman and Peter J. Fencer and his wife Amy of Stoughton as well as his grandchildren, Matthew, Mary, Allison and Dylan.  He was the brother of twin siblings, Colin Fencer of Maine and Colleen Vaughn of North Carolina, Glenn Fencer of Bourne, twin brothers, Clark Fencer of Boston and Craig Fencer of Maine, Michael Fencer of Georgia and the late Mary Lou Fencer and Gail Fencer.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

  

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, November 14 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.  Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM.  Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Brockton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce‘s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
