Carmen M. (Silva) Rios, 47, died unexpectedly on May 2, 2021, while vacationing in the Dominican Republic with her husband. She was the wife of over 20 years of Vincent Rios of Brockton. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she came to the United States at age 5 and settled in Boston. She was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Carmen was a resident of Brockton for over 30 years and was a dedicated wife and mother who also was a devoted Foster Mother as well. Her passion was her family and her life revolved around it. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed the special moments with her family and consistently put others first. Known as a "selfie queen", she enjoyed getting dressed up for family events and dining out. She is dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.
In addition to her husband Vincent, Carmen is survived by her children, Jacqueline A. Gonzalez of FL, Demitrius J. "Teto" Gonzalez of Dorchester, George A. Lithgow and his fiancé Tamara McPherson of Brockton, Vianna I. "Nana" Pagan and her husband Eric of Stoughton, Arianna E. Rios and her fiancé Nick Sundstrom of Taunton, Vincent R. "Macho" Rios of Randolph, Viannelis M. "Nelly" Rios of Brockton, and the late Anna Maria Rios. Carmen was the beloved "Ella" to her 9 grandchildren; Jaslyne C. Lopez, Danielys, Skyla and Jalayne Montanez, Demitrius N. Gonzalez, Yanaliz Lithgow, Emilia and Mia Pagan and Aiden J. Rios. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her 10th grandchild, Carmen Zimena Lithgow. She was predeceased by one brother.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, The Mission Church, 1545 Tremont St., Roxbury, on Wednesday at 10AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmen's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
