Charles David Homer, 92, a longtime resident of Raynham, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Elmes) Homer and Joan (Lennon) Homer. Son of the late George H. and Ida (Ferreira) Homer, he was born and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School. Charles was a Seaman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He worked at the Stoughton Department of Public Works for 34 years, retiring as a street foreman in 1983. He was a member of the Rising Star Masonic Lodge in Stoughton and the Public Works Department Union. He resided in Florida for 15 years before moving to Raynham 20 years ago.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles D. Homer, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Bridgewater, Jane M. Carrigan and her husband Wayne of Florida and John E. Homer and his wife Laura of Gilford, NH. He was the grandfather of Ryan Homer, Christine Homer, Kayleigh Carrigan, Kristin Jackson, Kathleen Carrigan, John Carrigan, Jay Homer and the late Patrick Carrigan. He was the brother of Paul Homer and Walter Homer both of Plainville and was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was the longtime companion of the late Mary Campbell. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
