We celebrate the life and death of Charles Lorimer, who passed peacefully on June 27, 2026 at 96 years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 loving years, Jean Agnes (Erhardt) Lorimer who passed in 2024. Born in Hyannis, he was the son of the late Robert G. Lorimer and Viola Mae Lorimer, and was raised in Dorchester, later moving to Stoughton where he raised his family and was a longtime resident for the past 56 years. Charles was the patriarch of the Lorimer family. Prior to his 25-year career with the Teamsters Union, Charles was a soldier for 22 years in the United States Army. His military career brought he and his family to Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and across the ocean to France, and Germany. He was a combat veteran serving with distinction for several tours in Vietnam. Charles met his wife Jean in Dorchester when they were just 17 years of age.
Charles is survived by his children Jean, Linda, Chuck, Matthew, and Terrence and was predeceased by his children Gary and Ellen. He was the grandfather to Christy, Shannon, Chucky, Patrick, Ellen, Cynthia, Amanda, Sarah and Sophia.
Family services were held privately. Words cannot describe the loss we feel. As your children, we will always love you dad. We thank you for bringing us into this world. We thank you for showing us different parts of our country and for showing us Europe. We thank you for being there when we needed you as a father. People sometimes wonder if they leave anything when their time is done. We will hang on to you dad, we love you.
