Charlotte L. (Nelson) Cahill

Charlotte L. (Nelson) Cahill, 71, a longtime resident of Roslindale, died Sunday, September 24, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family, after a long period of declining health.  Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School in Jamaica Plain.  In 1990, she wed Brian A. Cahill in a ceremony on Mount Cahill in Washington, VT and together have spent the last 33 years together making their home in Roslindale.  Charlotte was a longtime employee of Wiltel Communications in Boston.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.  Charlotte enjoyed watching movies and loved a good romantic comedy and the Wizard of Oz.  She enjoyed word searches, puzzles and loved to ride motorcycles.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends.  

In addition to her husband Brian, she is survived by her two sons, John J. “Jay” McMahon and wife Kristen Boschetto McMahon both of Canton and Richard N. McMahon and fiancé Michelle Poore both of Stoughton also Annie Mead of Bloomsburg PA and Brain Cahill Jr. of Dedham She was the loving “Gram” of Caitlin Harden, Richard N. McMahon, Jr., Kaylie Duclos, Noan McMahon, Mia McMahon, Cody Mead, the late Wilder Mead, Mave Mead, Riley Mead, Anthony Saunders and Katy Kostigan. She is survived by her loving cats Billy Bob and Thelma Lou. She was the sister of Joan Nelson of Roslindale and the late Kenny Nelson and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  

A Celebration of Charlotte’s Life will be held October 21, 2023 at The Elks Lodge in 1 Morrill St., W.Roxbury from 12-4 PM.  Donations in her memory may be made to Rosie’s Place, 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118.
