Christine J. (Hammond) DeLury, 63, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at her home in Brockton, MA, surrounded by her beloved family. She was the wife of CDR Michael E. DeLury, USCG (Ret.) for over 42 years. Born in Lafayette, IN to parents Theresa L. and Roy Hammond, she was raised in Garland, TX with her six siblings. Christine was a resident of Brockton for a short time, previously spending the last seven years in Wilmington, NC. Prior to that, she and Michael lived in many places, including New York, Connecticut, Washington, Guam, Alaska, Washington, DC and the Netherlands. Because they moved so often, Christine had a variety of careers, but her favorite was her work as a Secretary and Registrar at the American International School in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she worked for more than eight years.

Christine’s life was rich with travel experiences around the world. She loved learning about history, cultures, food and, most of all, people. She enjoyed scuba diving, boating, skiing, hiking, biking and was a Pickleball enthusiast. Christine lived for jokes and laughter, brightening the lives of her friends, family and co-workers with her remarkable sense of humor. Above all, Christine’s most cherished times were being "Nana” to her beloved granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Meagan E. Spinelli and her husband Paul of Dorchester and Seth H. DeLury of Belmont. She was predeceased by her son Zachary M. DeLury. Christine was the loving and devoted Nana of Sonia R. Spinelli and Lanna C. Spinelli. She was the sister of Patricia Nanney of OK, Paula Lilyhorn of TX, Mark Hammond of WA, Connie Blake of TX, Gail Petersen of AR and the late Anita Allen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
