Obituary

Christine A. (Barry) Mellyn, 58, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Westerly Hospital in Westerly, Rhode Island, following a courageous six-year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Scott E. Mellyn and cherished mother of Sarah P. Mellyn and Amanda E. Mellyn.

Born and raised in Canton, Christine was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1985, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State College. She was a longtime resident of Stoughton before moving to Hope Valley, Rhode Island, several months ago.

Christine enjoyed a successful career at CloudWave in Marlborough MA, ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Marketing. Alongside her professional accomplishments, she formed deeply meaningful bonds with her colleagues, always valuing the wonderful friendships she shared with her coworkers throughout her career.

In her free time, Christine enjoyed fitness, gardening, and spending time at East Beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island, where she found joy in the beauty and peace of the ocean. But above all else, Christine treasured her family. The moments spent with her husband, Scott, her two beloved daughters, and her extended family were the ones she held closest to her heart. Her love for her family was at the center of her life.

Christine leaves behind her loving husband, Scott E. Mellyn, of Hope Valley, Rhode Island, and her two cherished daughters, Sarah P. Mellyn and Amanda E. Mellyn. She was the daughter of James Barry of Canton and the late Nancy Barry. She was the sister of Kevin Barry of Rhode Island and Trisha Williams of North Carolina. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
