Clinton Noddin Matthews, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 27, 2025, a day after his 82nd birthday. He was the husband of Evelyn R. (Ferzoco) Matthews since 1988. He was born in Boston, son of the late George and Bernice (Hayes) Matthews. He was raised in Charlestown and educated in Boston schools. Clint resided in Stoughton for the past 53 years. He was a design engineer at Gillette in South Boston for over 25 years before working at Zebra Technology in Rhode Island for 15 years until his retirement at age 70. He had a passion for baseball and was a coach for Stoughton Little League for many years.
In addition to his wife, Clint is survived by his children, Sandra L. Denneno and her husband Andrew, David S. Matthews and Robert J. Matthews and his wife Tara all of Raynham as well as his step-children, Kevin Mischley and his wife Jennifer of Wrentham, Mark Mischley and his wife Michelle of West Bridgewater and Carolyn Sullivan and her husband David of Vermont. He was the brother of the late George Matthews and Barbara Flener. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, January 5 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 6 at 11 AM with a burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
