Constance A. "Connie" (Smith) Martin

Constance A. “Connie” (Smith) Martin, age 84, passed away on March 29, 2024, at Baypointe Rehab Center in Brockton. Born, raised and educated in Stoughton, she was the daughter to the late Roger and Anna C. (Galasso) Smith, and was a lifelong resident. She attended Massasoit and received an associate degree in psychology. She worked as a home health aide for the State of Massachusetts for many years and cared for special needs children working at a group home out of Paul A. Dever State School, previously out of Taunton, for several years. She was an avid animal lover, and a longtime member of the ASPCA, making charitable donations throughout the years. She also worked for Meals on Wheels out of Stoughton. She was extremely involved in the community of Stoughton and dedicated her time and efforts within the town. She loved to travel, watch gameshows, play Yahtzee and spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Connie is survived by her children Karen Martin, Kenneth Martin and his wife Kathy Amaru, and Elizabeth McCabe, all of Stoughton, and was preceded in death by her son Kevin Martin. She was the Grammie to 5 grandchildren, and the Great-Grammie to 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister to Joanne McGowan and the late Ronald Smith. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie’s name may be made to the ASPCA at https://secure.aspca.org/donate.
