Dale J. Hough, 57, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Boston Medical Center South in Brockton, after being stricken ill at his home in Stoughton. Born in Stoughton, son of the late James and Patricia (Fenton) Hough, he was a longtime resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1986. He was a longtime employee of the Town of Stoughton Public Works Department in the Highway Department. He retired in 2017. In 1997, he married Sharon E. Gear, and together they enjoyed 28 years of marriage and raised their beloved son Joshua. Dale was a Boston Sports Fan and enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends at the Public House in Stoughton. He also enjoyed spending time with family in Old Orchard Beach, Maine during the summer. His most cherished times were spent with his family.
In addition to his wife Sharon E. (Gear) Hough of Stoughton, he is survived by his son Joshua J. Hough of Stoughton and Katie Harada-Alcantara of Manhattan Beach. Dale was the brother of Patricia Tartaglia and her late husband John Tartaglia and also Cheryl Sullivan and her husband John, all of NH and the late Richard Hough. He was the brother in law of Shaun Gear and his wife Patricia of Raynham and the son in law of John Gear of Walpole and the late Carole Gear. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Nicole, Jenn, Tyler, Ryan, Colleen, Shane, Brendan, great nephew Dominic, and his late nephew Jonny.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4-7 PM with Funeral Prayers to follow at 7 PM.
