Dale Arthur Pooler Sr.,77, of Littlefield, Arizona, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born January 29, 1948 in Brockton, to the late Elizabeth Mae Burgess and James Curtis Pooler on a snowy night.
Raised in Stoughton, he attended Stoughton High School, where he played football. Upon Graduation, he proudly serving in the U.S. Navy as an Airedale, he later served aboard the USS Hancock in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Navy, Dale was stationed in Hawaii, where he enjoyed surfing. On September 19, 1969, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Marjorie Elizabeth Darling—who was also his best friend's sister—in an L.D.S. chapel in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Their love was later eternally sealed in the Brigham City L.D.S. Temple on May 15, 2015. They were blessed with 5 wonderful children; Ayme, Dale Jr, Jeremy, Ryan, and Melanie. Dale's love and passion for all things racing and automobiles lead him on a long employment journey as a mechanic and engine builder for NASCAR and other race teams. Dale later worked in various racing support industries including Calico Coatings where he retired after 15 years of service. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a counselor in the Elders Quorum and working closely with the church's missionaries.
Dale is survived by his Wife, Marjorie Pooler, of Littlefield, AZ, his children, Amye Darling of Rocky Point, NC, Dale Pooler Jr of Charlotte, NC, Jeremy Pooler and wife, Samantha, of Logan, UT, Ryan Pooler and wife, Lindsey, of Logan, UT, and Melanie Porter of Layton UT. He was the brother of Linda Frenette of E. Taunton, James Pooler and wife, Cheryl of Raunham, Cindy Pooler and husband, Mike of Maine, and Holly Hardiman and husband, John of Stoughton. He is survived by his 13 grandchildren, Aymber Lerman, Krystele and Bobbie Stein, Jeremy Curtis Pooler Jr, Arrie Devlyn Lee Shelnutt, Ashelyn, Jazzlyn, and Levi Pooler, Sarah, Ella, Tabitha, and Leah Porter, and Ezra Pooler; and 2 great grandchildren, Bailey and Sawyer Lerman.
Funeral services were held in Arizona with Burial with Military Honors at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, Bluffdale, UT.
