Daniel J. Gaultier, 95, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Winifred B. (Ward) Gaultier. Son of the late Joseph and Rose (Polillio) Gaultier, he was born in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1947. Danny then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War, being honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class in 1954 after serving for 4 years. He returned to Stoughton and began his career as a heavy equipment operator with the Polillio Brothers, a career that spanned for over 50 years. He retired 20 years ago. Danny loved a good cigar, vacationing in Florida and gardening but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Danny is survived by his children, Diane Zemaitis and her husband Matthew of Brockton, Daniel J. Gaultier Jr. and his wife Debra of Taunton and Lisa K. Conrad and her husband Kenneth of Stoughton. He was the beloved “Papa” to his grandchildren, Nicole Rideout, Joseph Luppino and Kenneth Conrad; his great-grandchildren, Alexa Vanderburg and her husband Alfred, Noah Rideout, Aiden Rideout, Kimberly Luppino and Vincenzo Luppino; and his great-great-grandchildren, Ronan and Finnley Vanderburg. He was the brother of Camilla “Millie” Powers of Stoughton and the late Isabel Ricci, Mary Ricci, Margaret Howland, Anthony Gaultier, Joseph Gaultier and Rosemarie Stuart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 25 from 10 AM–12 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny‘s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
