David Paul Bova, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was the husband of Elaine Rose (Schmidt) Bova for 55 years. Son of the late Anthony F. and Elsie L. (Johnson) Bova, he was born in Bridgeport, CT and raised in Stratford, CT. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, Class of 1959 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. At W.P.I., David was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, The Society of the Sigma Xi and the Chi Epsilon Fraternity, a National Honorary Civil Engineering Fraternity. He also took classes towards his Master’s Degree at Northeastern University in Boston. He resided in Stoughton for 55 years. David was a civil engineer at Metcalf & Eddy in Boston then Wakefield for 40 years before retiring in 2002. He was a Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He enjoyed reading and military history in his free time.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughters, Denise Bova of South Easton and Sandi Bova Cadero and her husband Jay of Walpole, as well as his grandsons, J.D. and Brandon Cadero. He was the brother of the late Tom Bova and his wife Dolores and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in David‘s memory may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000 (www.bestfriends.org).
