David G. Chrisos

David George Chrisos, 41, was called home to the Lord on April 30, 2026, after battling cancer with remarkable determination and strength. He was born on December 6, 1984, to Donald and Shirley (Canning) Chrisos in Bangor, Maine. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.

A protective father, husband, son, and brother, David lived a life shaped by perseverance, loyalty, and love for his family. A standout basketball player at Bangor Christian School, he scored more than 1,000 points during his high school career and carried that competitive spirit with him throughout his life. In 2002, after a car accident left him in a coma and with a traumatic brain injury, David fought his way back to build the life he loved.

He lived in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and was a member of Grace Church in Braintree. His faith sustained him through the hardest parts of his life. Even in the face of serious illness, he carried both the weight of what he was facing and an enduring hope, as he trusted God’s plan.

He shared 18 years of marriage with Meghan Holt Chrisos after they met at Eastern Nazarene College, where David played college basketball. Their young children, Emma, Ryan, and Madelyn, were at the center of his life. He was proud as he watched his daughters dance and coached his son in sports, cheering them on always. He treasured great memories of traveling as a family and attending New England sporting events but also cherished the everyday routines of family life and the one-on-one time he shared with each of his children.

David connected easily with people. He was thoughtful, approachable, and someone others trusted. As senior personal lines manager at Malcolm & Parsons, he helped people navigate some of life’s most important moments. He stayed active, spent time at the gym, and never lost his competitive edge.

As the cancer progressed, David’s concern remained for others rather than himself. He would say, “It’s alright, though. I’m glad it’s me and not anyone else,” a reflection of the selflessness with which he faced hardship.

At home, his dogs Gracie and Captain were constant companions.

He is survived by his loving wife, Meghan, and their precious children, Emma, Ryan, and Madelyn; his beloved mother, Shirley Chrisos-Haslam, and her husband, Paul; his brothers, Billy and Jonathan, and their families; his in-laws, Michael and Joan Holt; Meghan’s brother, Matthew Holt, and his family; and many extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald George Chrisos, his grandparents, Ross and Dorothy Canning and George and Ethel Chrisos, and his uncle Bruce Canning.

On his final to-do list, he wrote, “Tell everyone I will miss them.” He will be missed more than words can say. Service details will be announced at a later date. One of David’s final wishes was for a support fund to be created for Meghan and their children. Donations may be made here: gofundme.com/davidchrisos
