David P. Hutchinson, 59, of Harrisville, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Woonsocket, RI. Following a massive heart attack one week prior, David’s family made the selfless decision to donate his liver and both kidneys, a final act of generosity that reflected the way he lived his life. Born in Norwood, David was the son of the late Lynn P. Hutchinson and Annmarie (Roche) Plant. He was raised and educated in Stoughton, where he met the love of his life, Robyn L. Fischer, in high school. Their 40-year love story blossomed into a marriage of over 35 years, beginning in 1990. Together, they raised three beloved children and built a warm and loving home in Cumberland, RI, later relocating to Harrisville four years ago. David worked for many years as a skilled flooring installer, learning the trade from Mitch Petrin and working for several area companies. He was known for his craftsmanship, dedication, and strong work ethic. A gifted drummer, David’s love of music began early as a member of the Golden Rays Drum and Bugle Corps. He played in several bands throughout his life including Busted Allies and Lynn Paul Jr. Band and found joy in sharing music with others. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New England Patriots, and enjoyed listening to sports radio. Above all, David was a devoted family man. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, offering them unconditional love and unwavering support. He also adored his dogs, Fendi and Nino, who were constant companions.
David is survived by his loving wife, Robyn L. (Fischer) Hutchinson of Harrisville; his son, David P. “DJ” Hutchinson Jr., and DJ’s fiancée Caitlin Lambert of Cumberland, and his twin daughters, Paige E. Hutchinson of Harrisville and her significant other Anthony Santosuosso and Samantha M. Hutchinson of Harrisville and her significant other Johende Cepin, He was the proud “Pops” of Jacob, Haley, Zabella, Ayden, Zackary, and Bentley. He is also survived by his stepfather, Paul Plant of Woonsocket; his siblings, Sean Hutchinson of Foxboro, Mark Hutchinson of Plymouth, Michael Hutchinson of Brewster, Joseph Plant of Cumberland, and Renee Plant of Wakefield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lynn “Paul” Hutchinson Jr.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 4-7 PM. Additionally, a Celebration of David’s Life will be held at the J & G Grill at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton on Saturday Night, beginning at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, 110 Lockwood St., Suite 422, Providence, RI 02903.
