Dennis Walsh, age 76, of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Carlene (Martin) Walsh, with whom he shared 42 years of devoted marriage.
Born in Brockton, Dennis was raised and educated in Stoughton. He attended St. Mary’s Primary School and was a graduate of Xavier Brothers High School, Class of 1968. He remained a lifelong resident of Stoughton and took great pride in his community.
Dennis honorably served his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve as a Seabee. He was a Plank Owner of Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202 (CBMU-202) and attained the rank of E01. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Antarctic Service Medal.
Dennis also was employed by the Town of Stoughton Department of Public Works, where he served for 38 years as a highway foreman before retiring in 2013. In addition to his professional service, he was actively involved in civic affairs, including service on the Stoughton Planning Board, serving multiple terms as town representative, and participating in various local committees dedicated to community events and initiatives.
Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, and his deep commitment to the town he called home. Affectionately known as “The Legend,” he enjoyed the company of family and friends, was a dedicated supporter of New England sports – especially the New England Patriots – and found great pleasure in his weekly breakfasts at local establishments in Stoughton.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children: Brian Walsh of Stoughton; Danielle Barret and her wife, Belinda, of Bridgewater; Tracey Peters and her husband, Chris, of Arnoldsville, Georgia; Timothy Walshjamin and his wife, Amanda, of Fishkill, New York; and Rachel-Ann Andrews of Stoughton. He was the cherished grandfather of Devin, Brian Walsh Jr., Sean, James, McKenna, Emmalee, Colin, Matthew, Owen, and Logan, and the great-grandfather of Brody and Liam.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 7, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Route 27), Stoughton, followed by funeral prayers at 7:00 PM.
