Diane L. (MacKenzie) Karafotias

Diane L. (MacKenzie) Karafotias, age 67, passed away peacefully at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton on July 20, 2022 after suffering Dementia for many years. Born on June 1, 1955, she was the loving daughter of the late Gerald and Virgil "Susie" McKenzie. She was the oldest sister of Nicholas MacKenzie and his wife Patricia of Canton, Elizabeth and her husband Arthur Coelho of Stoughton and Christopher MacKenzie and his wife Robyn of Foxboro. Di was the proud aunt of Andrea Coelho-Woodhouse and her husband Nico, Nicholas MacKenzie II and Danielle MacKenzie and her fiancé James Cavanagh. Also, a great aunt to Nolan Woodhouse.

Growing up, Di experienced fantastic times with friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially a first cousin Kris Fezio. Diane embraced her Greek heritage with passion. In her eyes her family was the best, and God forbid if you crossed her circle of love. She had various jobs throughout her career, her last one before retirement as a manager at a Canton drycleaner, where everyone knew her name. She was the go-to gal when it came to fabric. As a toddler, she had conviction and style about what she liked and disliked, tossing her shoes from the car window. Di was a fashion plate with her glam face, fashionable cloths, jewelry and handbags. She was a material girl who we loved. She was a fantastic cook, fabulous on the dance floor, enjoyed boating, traveling, relaxing on the beach with her magazines and a cosmo cocktail. She loved a good party and was the life of it. We terribly miss her vibrant personality. We will cherish our memories of her, and we thank the Lord that she was called home and has peace in his Kingdom.
