Donald F. Mack, Sr., age 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, most recently a resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was the husband of the late Janet (Hazelum) Mack. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Mack. Don served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War before being honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. He worked at Brotherhood Oil Company for many years before retiring. Don spent many years at Heights Crossing in Brockton, where he was affectionately known as “The Mayor.” He enjoyed playing the numbers game and Bingo, watching sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox and going to Raynham Park. He will be greatly missed.
Don was the father of Donald Mack Jr. and his wife Joanne, Richard Mack Sr. and his wife Robin, Christopher Mack and his late wife Cynthia, Joanne May and her husband Carl and the late John Mack and his surviving wife Wendy and Gregory Mack. He was the grandfather of Jonathan Mack and his wife Heather Easter, Jessica Mack, Richard Mack Jr. and his significant other Emily, Brendon Mack and his husband Will Warren, Anthony Mack and his wife Ji Su An, Jenna Mack, Laura Swanson, Mark Mack, Ashley Colon and her husband Ismael, Amanda Donahue and her husband Taylor and Abby Saltmarsh. He was the great-grandfather of Alianna, Landon, Parker, Hayden and the late Logan. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Katherine, Lawrence, Alfred, Wilson “Sonny,” Joseph and Robert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday, February 9 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s memory may be made to Bruno Project Rescue, 20 Trebors Way, Bridgewater, MA 02324 or www.brunoprojectrescue.org.
