Dorothy A. “Dottie” (Soderstrom) Giangiordano, 92, died Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Dorchester, she was raised and educated in Canton and Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School, Class of 1952. In 1957, she married Cosmo F. Giangiordano and together they raised their family in Canton. She was a resident of Canton for over 60 years. Dottie was a longtime employee of NHD Hardware in Stoughton, working in the Accounts Payable Department for over 20 years. She retired many years ago. Previously, she worked at Rite Aid in Stoughton and Bird and Sons in Walpole.
Dottie was known for her giving and caring nature and her willingness to open her home and heart to everyone. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and friend. Dottie enjoyed her summer vacations to Skaket Beach in Orleans and vacations to Lincoln, NH. She also had fond memories of cruises to Bermuda with her husband Cosmo and her friends. A longtime parishioner of St. James Church in Stoughton, Dottie found peace in her nightly Rosary and also enjoyed crocheting and painting Christmas ornaments.
Dottie was the mother of Michael W. Giangiordano of Canton and Deacon David Giangiordano of Canton and the Catholic Parishes of Stoughton and the late Jeri Ann Giangiordano. She was the sister of Charles Soderstrom of NY and the late Janice M. Casey. She is also survived by her dog Pepsi, her cat Alvin and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 11AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Dottie’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
