Douglas J. Hadley, 57, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Son of Jane R. (Rennie) Hadley of Stoughton and the late James E. Hadley, he was born and educated in Stoughton. Douglas was a proud Army Veteran, serving 3 different times in the 1980's and 2000's before finishing with a rank of Sergeant in 2012 when he served to fight the Global War on Terrorism. He also was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, working in Stoughton, Sharon and Dedham for 5 years before retiring 9 years ago. He was a member of the VFW Post 1645 and the AMVETS Post 1977 both in Stoughton and the American Legion Post 24 in Canton. He was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan who enjoyed reading and walking.

In addition to his mother, Douglas is survived by his children, Matthew A. Hadley and Jaymie E. Hadley both of Middleboro. He was the brother of Mark Hadley of Manchester, NH, Donna Capozzoli and Melissa Hadley both of Stoughton, David Hadley of Burleson, TX and the late Matthew Hadley. He is also survived by his former wife, Janet M. (Bechet) Hadley as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 6th at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 9-10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Douglas' memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or America's VetDogs, checks payable to Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, 371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787.
