Edith “Dolly” (George) Evangelista, 80, died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Dominic M. Evangelista. She was born in Malden, daughter of the late Allen C. and Marion F. (Spracklin) George. Dolly was raised in Stoughton and Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She attended Boston Practical Nursing School before earning her Registered Nurse degree from Massasoit Community College. She resided in Hyde Park for over 30 years before moving to Plymouth for 10 years. Dolly was a registered nurse at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale for over 30 years and worked at several other facilities in the area before retiring at age 65. She enjoyed playing slot machines, camping and traveling but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dolly is survived by her sons, Paul Evangelista and his husband Myron Siu of Centerville, Robert Evangelista and his wife Ellen of Stoughton and Brian Evangelista and his wife Sheila of Halifax as well as her grandchildren, Kerri, Dominic, Taylor, Jaclyn and Cameron and her great-grandsons, Matthew, Dean and Nathan. She was the sister of Allen George of Sandwich, Nancy Cole of Stoughton and the late Doris Richiell, Patricia Hale and Marion Smith. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Steve LePage and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, February 25 from 9-11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Burial will be private at a later date.
