Edward G. Gaibl Jr.

Edward Gilbert Gaibl Jr., 73, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Patricia L. (Poore) Gaibl for 53 years. Son of the late Edward G. and Margaret (Doncaster) Gaibl, he was born in Newton and raised in Canton. Ed was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1969. He resided in Brockton for the past 50 years. He was a Deputy Sheriff for the Plymouth County Sheriff Department for over 27 years, where he served as a K-9 Officer for 17 years. During his career, he also achieved the rank of Sergeant before retiring 15 years ago.

Those who truly knew Ed knew that he could be grumpy and overly suspicious but if he liked you, he was nothing but loving, supportive and steadfast in his own way, ED WAY! Ed was honest and fair and you always knew where you stood with him. Ed loved motorcycling. He was a Past President of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He was also the U.S. Vice Chairman of the Northeast Conference of the Blue Knights. He took pride representing himself and his Blue Knight family. Ed was truly a biker, a cop’s cop, and a true blue Blue Knight!

In addition to his wife Pat, Ed is survived by his beloved daughter, Heather H. White and her husband Casey of Salem, MA as well as his adored granddaughter, Josephine H. White. He was the brother of Doris Kraemer of East Falmouth and Kurt Gaibl of Stoughton and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his entire Blue Knight family worldwide.
