Edward F. McLean, 70, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Brockton, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Judy (Stein) McLean. Son of the late Lester McLean and Ann (Campbell) Mulloy, he was born in Boston, raised and educated in Brookline and was a graduate of Brookline Schools. Ed was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving from January 1974 until March of 1976. After his Honorable Discharge, he returned home to Brookline and began working for the Brookline Water Department. He later took a job with the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier and Postal Worker. He worked at the Post Offices in Needham, Wellesley, North Quincy and Mattapan and retired in 2015. Ed was a longtime resident of Stoughton and a friend of Bill W. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, shopping and collecting.
Ed is survived by his siblings, Barbara A. Littlefield of Avon, Jeanne Gaudet of Canada, Kathleen McLaughlin of FL, Paul “Keith” McLean of Weymouth, Joanne Snell of Stoughton and was predeceased by his brother Thomas McLean and sister Carol Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10AM-11AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
