Edward T. Walsh, 95, died peacefully surrounded by family at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Monday, January 29, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Beverly Holak DeMello-Walsh.  Son of the late John H. and Esther Furhman Walsh, he was born in Boston and raised in Cambridge.  He graduated from Cambridge Latin High School, Class of 1945.  Shortly thereafter, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  Ed was a Seaman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II.  He was a resident of Stoughton and Easton for many years.  Ed worked as a salesman for Szafarz Graphic Supplies in Cambridge and worked at the family restaurant Peter Piper Restaurant in Boston.  He was also the advertising manager at Associated Weekly’s in Stoughton.

 Ed was a member of the Industrial Commission for the Town of Stoughton and a Corporator at Randolph Savings Bank for many years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 89 and the Lions Club all in Stoughton.  He was active at the Little Theatre and Century Players and was a loyal member of the choir at both St. James Church and Immaculate Conception Church, all in Stoughton.  He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed painting portraits and landscapes and enjoyed classes at Robert Arthur Studios in Brockton.

 Ed is survived by his children, Dianne Waugh-Larsen and her husband Jens, Mary Anne Walsh, Gerard Walsh and his wife Michele, Edward T. Walsh, Jr. and his wife Tara, Jeffrey DeMello and his wife Karen, Deborah DeMello and Karen DeMello MacDonald.  He was the brother of the late Lillian Busby and an uncle to the late Glenn Busby.  He is also survived by his former wife, Helen Walsh-Holman, eight grandchildren, Matthew Waugh, Christopher Walsh, Hannah Walsh Romans, Joseph Walsh, Alyssa DeMello McConnell, Amber DeMello Mucka, Robert MacDonald and Ian MacDonald; six great-grandchildren, Liam Waugh, Luca Waugh, Elena McConnell, Dominic McConnell, Brynn Mucka and Reed Edward MacDonald; several in-laws, two nephews, Robert Busby and Richard Busby, and several cousins and close friends.

 Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.  Visiting Hours Thursday, February 8 from 4-7 PM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed‘s memory may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 18 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
