Eileen F. (Harrington) Donoghue, 92, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Ruth McLain Hospice Home in Braintree on Sunday, March 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Denis Donoghue. Daughter of the late Peter and Ellen (Finn) Harrington, she was born and raised in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1952, settled in Hyde Park and later became a US Citizen. She lived in Hyde Park for 45 years before moving to Stoughton in 1997. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family.
Eileen is survived by her children, Denise Deziel and Ellen Magoon both of Easton, Michael Donoghue of Stoughton, Patricia Donoghue of Randolph, Maureen Berardi and her husband William of Milton, Catherine Whitehouse and her husband Brian of Medway, Dennis Donoghue and his partner David Jordan of Dorchester and Jean Desmond of Canton. She was the mother of the late David Donoghue and Karen Donoghue. She was the sister of Con Harrington of England, Thomas Harrington and Kathleen Coughlan both of Ireland and the late James Harrington, Molly Heary, Michael Harrington and Peter Harrington. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
