Eleanor C. (Fabiano) DePalma

Eleanor C. (Fabiano) DePalma, 95, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. Born, raised and educated in East Boston, she was a graduate of East Boston High School. In 1955, she married Thomas N. DePalma from a blind date, and together they raised 4 beloved children and enjoyed 56 years of marriage before Tom’s death in 2011.  Mrs. DePalma was a longtime resident of Stoughton.  She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother who later worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Jones School in Stoughton for several years.  She left her job at the school to help her family and enjoyed babysitting and helping to raise her grandchildren.  She was a member of the West Stoughton Civic Association and enjoyed gardening and bowling in her younger years.  The thing that Ellie loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren and her family. 

Mrs. DePalma is survived by her children, Alfred P. DePalma and his wife Meredith of GA, Thomas N. DePalma and his wife Jill of Taunton, Michael G. DePalma and his wife Dorothy of Attleboro and Denise M. Miranda and her husband Richard of Canton.  She was the sister of Anna Vellante of E. Boston and the late Anthony and Rocco Fabiano, Carmella Antonnucci, Elizabeth Matt, Mary Spina, Frank and Alfred Fabiano, Rita Tritto and Gerald Fabiano.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Prayers will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 12 PM.  Visiting Hours prior to the Prayers from 10AM-12PM.  Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellie’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
