Elizabeth A. (Genovese) Lambert

Elizabeth A. (Genovese) Lambert, 100 years old, was born on November 29, 1924, and passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the West Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. Born and raised in Manchester, CT, she was a graduate of Manchester High School. At the age of 16 she worked for an insurance agency and was further trained in singing in New York City. Music was a major focus of her life. She was a talented opera singer and performed opera in New York and sang in the chorus at Radio City Music Hall.

She was the wife of the late Charles Lambert. They raised their family in Chicago, IL and then Vernon, CT, where they spent many years. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. After her husband’s death she moved to Stoughton to be closer to her son. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Daughters of the Nile. In her free time, she participated in church activities, social clubs and the support of Shriner’s Hospital was important to her. She participated in numerous singing groups and sang on Saturday morning WTIC-AM radio shows. She collected music boxes and enjoyed crocheting.

Elizabeth was the mother of the late Muriel Rowland and her husband Robert, and her son was the late Dennis Lambert. She helped to raise and is survived by her sister Theresa R. Frechette of NM. Her other siblings were the late Arthur Genovese, Elmo Genovese, Jr. and Charles Genovese. She is also survived by her stepsibling, Alita Van Wagner of NY, and her half-siblings Linda Convertino and Robert Genovese both of CT, Diane Roberts of AZ and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, 162 Hillside St., East Hartford, CT on Friday February 7th at 11 AM.
