Elizabeth A. "Bette" Meier

Elizabeth A. “Bette” Meier, 72, died Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. She was the longtime companion and friend of the late Herbert Gustafson. Born in Boston, she was a resident of Stoughton for several years, previously living in Walpole and spent over 15 years in Middleboro. Bette worked in Property Management in Canton for many years. She was a lover of animals and enjoyed volunteering at the Neponset Valley Humane Society and spending time with her cats.

Bette was predeceased by her longtime companion Herbert Gustafson, late of Stoughton, and is survived by her friend, Herb’s daughter, Susan Gustafson of NH. Bette is predeceased by Herb’s son, Karl Gustafson. Prior to his death, Karl and Bette shared a mutual friendship and enjoyed each other’s company. She was the sister of Christina Alteri of SC, David Meier of Middleboro and the late Eric Meier.

At Bette’s request, services will be private with interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in her memory may be made to the Neponset Valley Humane Society, POB 544, Norwood, MA 02062.
