Emily Elizabeth Carreiro, 17, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 10, 2020. She was the beloved daughter of William C. Carreiro, LT, Stoughton FD and his wife Kelli and Kerry M. (Cosgrove) Carriero and her fiancé Mark Earley all of Stoughton. Born in Winchester, she was educated in Stoughton schools. Emily was entering her senior year at Stoughton High School and was Captain of the Varsity Volleyball team. She also was a member of the Chorus and the Cheerleading team at the high school. She worked at Town Spa Pizza and was an excellent artist.
In addition to her parents, Emily is survived by her siblings, William C. Carreiro, Jr. and Caitlin R. Carreiro both of Stoughton and her step-siblings, Chris McKenna, Erich Schultz and Rylie Schultz all of Stoughton. She was the granddaughter of Nancy M. Carreiro of Stoughton and Joan E. Cosgrove of Somerville. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 15 from 4-7 PM. Masks and social distancing required. Due to the coronavirus pandemic a Funeral Mass will be private. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily's name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, PO Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037-0920.
