Eric R. Johnson

Eric R. Johnson, beloved son of Harold "Dick" and Gertrude "Trudy" (Wilding) Johnson, earned his angel wings after a brief illness on Saturday, October 9. He was 57. Eric was an adored brother to Lisa Oliviere and her husband Tod of North Easton MA, and Richard Johnson and his wife Alice of Wrentham MA. He was also an amazing uncle to Tommy and Catherine Oliviere, and Russell and Nathan Johnson.

Eric faced many challenges in his life, but he always met those he loved with a smile that would light up a room. He spoke volumes with a glance or an expression that painted a picture clearer than any spoken word. He had a profound impact on anyone who met him, as his love of life was infectious. Often people would look at Eric and see only his physical challenges, but Eric never appeared unhappy or upset with his limitations. He taught us all to appreciate the things in life that are important: kindness, compassion, patience, and love. When he was 7 years old, Eric's parents were told to take him home and love him because he wouldn't live long. Not only did he defy those odds, he lived his life to the fullest. He loved camping all over New England and travelling to Disney World, Nashville, and Washington D.C. He climbed mountains and enjoyed rides on bikes, boats, and most importantly, trains. Eric loved game shows, jukeboxes, the Red Sox, Mr. Rogers, Jeeps, telephones, watches, clocks, exit signs, and Coca Cola. He loved his family more than anything, and they treasured him. Every day with Eric was a gift and we will always cherish the days we shared with him. He will be missed and loved forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 14th from 5-7 PM. An additional visiting hour will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, October 15th from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM.
