Ernest L. Guerrera

Ernest L. "Ernie" Guerrera age 73, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Tampa General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Scalea, Italy until the age of 10 when his family moved to the United States and settled in Somerville, MA. Ernie continued his schooling there and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He was the cherished husband of Cherylanne for over 40 years, and was the doting father of six children. Ernie was a jack of all trades, holding many different jobs in various industries over his lifetime, which often overlapped. As an entrepreneur, he started a number of businesses, including Flicks, a community video store in Stoughton, a fish market in Scituate, an IT consulting firm and NuWave Technologies, a software company that his family carries on.

Ernie was a resident of South Easton, MA for years before he and his wife moved to Clearwater, FL. He enjoyed his family and friends, food and wine, as well as making wine, and loved spending time riding his motorcycle and deep sea fishing. He was a longtime season ticket holder of the New England Patriots with his son Michael. He was a member of the 49ers Club in Bridgewater, and was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton, where he would annually host the Parish Holiday Dinner. He was known for being quick to laugh and for his quips, his kind words of wisdom, and his warm smile.

In addition to his wife Cherylanne, Ernest is survived by his children Michael E. Guerrera and his girlfriend Geraldine Rudolph of West Bridgewater, Laura Dorsey and her husband Chuck of Alabama, William Guerrera and his wife Melissa of Colorado, Anthony Guerrera and his wife Rhonda of Alabama, Gabrielle Guerrera and her husband Ryan Wright of Vermont and Gemma Robinson and her husband Josh of North Carolina. He was the brother of Patrick Guerrera of Florida, Nick Guerrera of California, Teresa Tardo and Anthony Guerrera both of North Carolina and Nancy Guerrera of Stoughton. He is also survived by his Aunt Marguerite, his cousins, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
