Eugene A. Nazzaro Jr.

Eugene A. Nazzaro, Jr., 94, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in South Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. Mr. Nazzaro was a longtime resident of Quincy and had been a resident of Stoughton for the past 9 years. He worked for Bruade Leather in Boston and New York for many years and retired as a Quality Control Inspector at age 62.

Gene was the dedicated husband of the late Dorothy T. (McNerney) Nazzaro. His devotion to his wife throughout her declining health was inspirational to his family and, though her passing was difficult, Gene chose to enjoy his life with a warm smile on his face, a spring in his step and twinkle in his eye. He was a gentle soul who taught right from wrong, to work hard and to enjoy life to the fullest every day. Gene loved to go out to breakfast daily, summer days at Hampton Beach, Sunday car rides and apple picking. He loved holidays with his family, July on Newfound Lake, cookouts and finding those little out of the way places to enjoy a good meal. Being with him was simple, easy and fun. Above all, he loved spending his time surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. 

Gene is survived by his children; Eugene A. Nazzaro, III and his wife Maria of Stoughton, and Judy A. Walsh and her husband Stephen of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Walsh, Matthew Walsh, Eugene A. Nazzaro IV, Michael Nazzaro and Christian Nazzaro and the great grandfather of Aaron Walsh and Ethan Nazzaro. Gene was predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, May 3 at 11 AM with visiting hours prior from 9AM-11AM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
