Evelyn Marie Jordan

Evelyn Marie (Cross) Jordan, 84, of Stoughton, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was born and raised in Edenton, NC; relocating to Massachusetts as a teenager, and graduated from Girls High School in Boston. She has resided in Stoughton for the past 54 years. Mrs. Jordan was a Key Punch Operator for Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company in Canton, MA, for several decades, retiring 20 years ago. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Brockton where she was a member of the choir and past treasurer. She was a member of the Electrons Bowling League for more than a quarter of a century. Mrs. Jordan enjoyed spending time at the Stoughton Senior Center where she was a Senior Serenaders. She enjoyed playing pinochle, dancing, baking; and was best known for her Jewish Apple Cake.

Mrs. Jordan was the mother of Deene A. Jordan of Brockton, Danette M. Jordan and David E. Jordan, both of Stoughton and Darin G. Jordan and his wife Andrea A. Jordan of NC. She was the sister of Nelson "Uncle Dip" Cross, Jr. of CA and Sherman Cross of NC. She was the grandmother of Jayson A. Thimas, Jenelle A. Jordan and Jonah D. Jordan. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her former husband Godfrey Earl "Ace" Jordan.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 13, 2020, from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant St., Brockton on Friday at 11 AM with viewing prior from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
