Felix L. LaPorte, 92, a longtime resident of Onset, MA, passed away peacefully at Heights Crossing in Brockton on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary M. (Savini) LaPorte.

Born and raised in Stoughton, MA, he was the son of the late Felix and Anna H. (Gregis) LaPorte. He graduated from Stoughton High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. A longtime resident of Stoughton, Felix later made his home in Onset in 1997.

Felix was known as a hardworking, hands-on man who took great pride in everything he did. He held many jobs throughout his life, but to those who knew him best, he never “worked” a day in his life—he simply loved staying busy, being productive, and providing for his family.

He began his long career at Stoughton Sand & Gravel and continued with the A.A. Will Corporation until his retirement in 2000. Never one to sit still, he balanced his career with 20 years of dedicated service as a firefighter with the Stoughton Fire Department, retiring in 1987. His love for his craft led him to found F.L. LaPorte & Sons Welding. Even in retirement, Felix remained active, working at LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville from its opening in 2001until 2016. He finally retired at the age of 82.

An energetic and active man throughout his life, Felix enjoyed riding his motorcycle as a proud member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club. Later in life, he developed a passion for golf and became a member of Bay Pointe Club in Onset. He also found joy in hunting, lobstering, camping, running, and walking his beloved dog, Maggie.

Above all, Felix was a deeply devoted family man and a proud, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest happiness came from time spent with his children and extended family, and he instilled in them the values of hard work, dedication, and love that defined his life.

Felix is survived by his children, Kevin E. LaPorte and his wife Claire of Easton, Taryn J. Reilly and her husband Mark of Raynham, Keith E. LaPorte and his wife Shari of Brooklyn Park, MN, Kraig E. LaPorte and his wife Mary of Guilford, VT, and Kirk E. LaPorte and his wife Kristin of Plainville. He was the brother of Ann DiBona of Carver, Phyllis Nowick, and the late Evelyn Riolo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, on Friday, May 8 from 9:30–11:30 AM, followed by Funeral Prayers at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Heights Crossing and Tides Hospice Care for the compassionate care and support shown to Felix and his family during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Felix’s memory may be made to the Heights Crossing, 35 Christy’s Place, Brockton, MA 02301 and please include Felix LaPorte in the memo line.
