Francis Xavier Devlin

Francis Xavier Devlin, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife, Kathleen (Nelson) Devlin of 25 years. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Leo Devlin and Theresa (Horgan) Devlin, and was a longtime resident of Stoughton. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School and attended Quincy Jr. College and Massasoit Community College. He worked at Stop and Shop Distribution Center for 23 years and was a Respiratory Therapist at Boston Medical Center before retiring in 2021. Fran joined the Army in his younger years and treasured the time that he served. He was an avid reader and historian, but above all, cherished his time with his family, and was a proud and beloved “Franpa” to his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Fran is survived by his children Elizabeth Devlin and her husband Charles Pappas of Brockton, Luke Devlin and his wife Jessica of New Jersey and Cassidy Hill of New Hampshire, and his stepchildren, Daniel Sheridan and his wife Megan of Brockton, and Christabel Sheridan and her wife Christina of North Attleboro. He was the “Franpa” to Peter, Evie, Gigi, Alora, Sorenne, Trace, Nathan, Zachary, and Alexander. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert “Bobby” Devlin of Boston and Maryanne Devlin of Boston, Boston andand was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Devlin and Gerard Devlin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Wednesday, November 1^st from 4-7 PM, with Funeral Prayers at 7 PM. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Wednesday, November 8^th at 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to the Trump Campaign.
