Francis Leo Galizio, 93, died Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Colbert) Galizio. Born and raised in South Boston, he was a graduate of South Boston High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he honorably served from 1944-1946. Upon his discharge, he became a Firefighter for the City of Boston on Ladder 22 in Charlestown and also in West Roxbury, and retired after 30 years on the job. Following his retirement, he worked part time at Spoontiques in Stoughton for several years, and made many friends there. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 7 years, previously spending over 40 years in Canton. In his free time, Frank enjoyed working in his yard, tending to his tomatoes, cooking and enjoying a glass of wine.
Mr. Galizio is survived by his daughter Sandra Buono and her husband John of Stoughton. He is also survived by "his" dog Gracie and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, private family services will be held with a celebration of Frank's life at a later date.
